Online Student Complaint Policy
Manhattanville University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) is an agreement amongst member states, districts, and territories that establishes comparable national standards and streamlines regulations, fees, and approvals for institutions offering interstate distance education programs. As a member of NC-SARA, Manhattanville University is authorized to deliver distance education programs in other NC-SARA member states. Note that California is not a member state of NC-SARA. Complaints resulting from distance education courses, activities and operations provided by SARA-participating institutions to students in other SARA states come under the coverage of SARA. Complaints against SARA-participating institutions must first follow the institution's grievance resolution procedures. Students dissatisfied with an institution's resolution of a complaint may appeal to the SARA Portal Entity in the institution's home state (NY). Note that this excludes complaints about grades or student conduct violations and appeals must be filed within two years of the incident (SARA Policy Manual).
