Congratulations to Stephen Hancock who on Thursday, November 14, 2024, successfully defended his dissertation proposal. The title of Stephen’s dissertation is: NAVIGATING CHANGE: THE HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL'S ROLE IN LEADING MASTER SCHEDULE REFORM.
Through a comparative case study analysis, Stephen aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the change process involved in revising the master schedule in two suburban high schools that recently have undergone master schedule reform. Through interviews with leaders and teachers from each school, Stephen will also explore how the aims of each schedule change align with the actual outcomes.
At time of a renewed call for changes in approaches to teaching and learning, the insights gleaned from Stephen’s research will be especially timely, relevant, and helpful.
