Transfer Admissions

Transferring can be an overwhelming process, but we make it easy at Manhattanville. 

As a transfer-friendly institution, we accept up to 90 credits in transfer, housing is guaranteed for transfer students, and over 98% of transfer students are eligible for financial aid.

Transfer Admissions at Manhattanville operates on a rolling basis. There is no deadline to apply.

Start the Transfer Process Today

 

Transfer students may apply to Manhattanville by completing the Common Application or the Manhattanville Application.

All transfer applicants should apply for the fall or spring term unless you are pursuing the Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program which starts in the fall, spring, or summer terms. 

Transfer students wishing to take summer classes prior to their first semester enrolling as a transfer, may do so as a non-degree student.

 

Along with your completed application, please submit the following:

  • Transcripts- Unofficial transcripts may be provided or uploaded to receive an initial admissions decision. Official transcripts will be required to enroll. Official transcripts can be sent by mail or secure electronic delivery directly from your previous institution.
    • Applicants with fewer than 12 college credits- You must submit both your high school (or equivalent) and college / universities transcripts from each institution attended
    • Applicants with 12 or more college credits- You must submit college / universities transcripts from each institution attended
  • $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee
  • Optional supplemental materials including SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation, personal essay, resume, and personal interview. (in some cases these materials may be required)

Official Electronic transcript submissions are preferred and should be sent to admissions@mville.edu 

In addition to submitting the requirements required of all transfer applicants, students pursing a degree in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences will be required to submit the following:

  • High School Transcript or equivalent
  • All College Transcripts
  • One Letter of Recommendation from a Teacher or Counselor
  • A Personal Statement: Why this is your major of choice?
  • TEAS Exam (for nursing transfer students with a GPA below 3.0)
  • Prerequisite Courses completed (if applying directly to the clinically-ready portion of the nursing program) available under 'Admissions and Aid'

 

Students interested in pursuing Art (Studio), Dance, Musical Theatre, and Theatre have additional portfolio and/or audition requirements to be met in addition to the regular transfer admission requirements.

Manhattanville College transfers up to 90 credits!

50% of all coursework for one's major or minor must be taken at Manhattanville.

Students with an Associates Degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 will receive full credit for all courses successfully completed toward that degree. If transferring with an AA or AS degree from an accredited institution, you are exempt from completing Manhattanville’s General Education requirements. *AAS degree holders are an exception to this policy.

Transfer applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.  Upon receipt of all all required documents, the admission committee will render an admission decision within three to five business days.

 

FALL APPLICANTS

Admission decisions will start being mailed home in early March. 

The priority deadline to apply is August 1.  Applications will continue to be considered for admission through the first week of fall classes.

 

SPRING APPLICANTS

Admission decisions will start being mailed home in October.

The priority deadline to apply is December 1.  Applications will continue to be considered for admission through the first week of spring classes.

 

SUMMER APPLICANTS

Summer Admission is only available to students that will begin the Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program.  All other transfer applicants should apply for the fall or spring term.  Students wishing to take summer classes prior to their first semester enrolling as a transfer student, may do so as a non-degree student.

Academic Support Services

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides free Peer Tutoring sessions for undergraduate students. Through the ARC, students receive individual and group support in a variety of subjects at all levels of the curriculum.

The Center for Student Accessibility partners with students to empower them to take ownership of their college journey. The Center also strives to increase positive dialogue surrounding disabilities, promoting the "people first" approach and communicating the message that disability is an integral part of diversity.

The Andrew Bodenrader Center for Academic Writing and Composition has a mission is to provide Manhattanville students with support at any stage of the writing process. We strive to build the confidence of student writers through encouraging, collaborative one-to-one sessions with peer tutors, graduate Writing Center Fellows, and Academic Writing faculty. 

The Center for Career Development is committed to individualized career exploration counseling, self-assessment, skill development, and utilizing internship and job search strategies that empower students to take ownership in their personal and professional success.
