Congratulations to Terry Dade who on Friday, May 17, 2024, successfully defended his dissertation proposal. The title of Terry’s dissertation is: Fostering Collective Teacher Efficacy in High-Poverty, High-Achievement Elementary Schools.
Terry’s qualitative, multiple case study will investigate how public elementary school principals foster the collective efficacy of their teachers in high-poverty, high-achievement elementary schools. The theoretical framework for this study is Bandura’s (1986) social cognitive theory, focusing on human agency and the ability to exercise control over an individual’s thoughts, motivation, and actions Understanding how principals enhance the collective efficacy of their teachers is important as the nation’s achievement gaps persist.
