Congratulations to Jessica Fudge, who on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, clearly, confidently, and successfully defended her final dissertation. The title of Jessica’s dissertation is: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEADERS’ APPROACHES TO CONTEXUAL FACTORS RELATED TO IMPLENTATION AND SUSTAINMENT OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES
Drawing upon Senge's organizational learning theory (1990), Jessica’s interpretive inquiry study explored school leaders' perspectives on how contextual factors including organizational structures, resources, communication, and control processes relate to the implementation and sustainment of PLCs. While Jess found that school leaders creatively maximize the limited resources available to them, her recommendations point to the need to reallocate time and other key resources in ways that prioritize the vital need for PLCs in schools. Well done, Jessica!
