Congratulations to Barbara D. Freeman who on Monday, April 15, 2024, successfully defended her dissertation. The title of Barbara's dissertation is: AN EXPLANATORY CASE STUDY OF COLLECTIVE RESILIENCE IN AN URBAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS.
This explanatory case study explored the collective resilient practices of school stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, Barbara’s study examined the successes and challenges associated with managing the pandemic crisis and how the outcomes aligned with the five practices of collective resilience put forward by Lyons et al. (2016): responding to challenges; bouncing back from setbacks; obtaining what is needed; achieving goals; maintaining high performing teams that can thrive; and fostering a culture of trust, adaptability, positivity, and agency.
