Professional Tennis Management
Request InformationBecome a leader in the exciting and growing field of tennis management with Manhattanville's new USTA Accredited Professional Tennis Management Track - the only PTM program in the Northeast!
Located in a tennis-rich area, the PTM program will prepare students to enter the tennis management field, while providing ample opportunities to make valuable industry contacts. Our program will work directly with USTA, America’s national governing tennis body, and organizer/sponsor of the US Open Tennis Championships at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in nearby Flushing Meadows, Queens. Brand-new campus tennis courts were completed during the summer of 2017, and men’s and women’s varsity tennis programs have been restored.
The B.A. in Sport Studies with PTM track requires 90 liberal arts credits, two science courses, one statistics course, one writing intensive course, two ‘Core Sport Content’ courses (from a compiled list), and the five courses in the PTM track:
- Orientation to Professional Tennis Management, 3 Credits (suggested timeline, sophomore year)
- Beginning Teaching Techniques, 3 Credits (suggested timeline, Freshman/sophomore year)
- Marketing and Administration for Professional Tennis Managers, 3 Credits (suggested timeline, junior year)
- Advanced Teaching Techniques, 3 Credits (suggested timeline, Junior year)
- Senior Evaluation (PTM track), 3 credits
Additionally, students may take up to three internships for credit, It is anticipated that most students would take an internship for one credit each summer.
