Manhattanville's Excellence in Teaching Academy (META) is a highly selective, accelerated graduate program that provides future teachers with the hands-on experience employers are seeking.
Graduate students in META receive a 50% tuition scholarship and stipend while serving as Teaching Apprentices in assigned schools. META Apprentices assist classroom teachers to deliver instruction to children. Mentored by expert practitioners, META Apprentices learn how to be effective teachers and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in education.
To qualify for this clinically rich teacher preparation program, candidates must submit a School of Education graduate application, personal essay, three letters of recommendation (professional or academic), official college transcript(s) with a minimum GPA of 3.25, and an interview.
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accredited Manhattanville College School of Education at the initial-licensure level. CAEP is the only recognized national accreditor for educator preparation. Manhattanville College School of Education has met rigorous national standards for educator preparation set by CAEP.
