Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence Awards and Recognition
The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is pleased to announce awards recognizing the extraordinary contributions of members of the Manhattanville community who have given their time and effort towards advancing a more just and inclusive community. Honorees are selected annually by the President’s Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and are presented at the Campus Awards Ceremony each April.
About the Awards
Award Criteria
- Nominees have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments that have increased awareness and understanding of diversity, equity, and/or inclusion; or
- Nominees have promoted a campus environment that is inclusive and welcoming while embracing and nurturing human differences; or
- Nominees have demonstrated innovation in advancing equitable outcomes; or
- Nominees have added to the body of knowledge around diversity, equity, and/or inclusion.
Eligibility
Any current employee, student or alumni are eligible for nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Nominations close February 23, 2024.
Award Categories
Student Recognition
Awarded to a current undergraduate student, who has shown a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion, and/or promoting social justice within the Manhattanville community.
Graduate Student Recognition: Awarded to a current graduate student who has shown a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion through their research, scholarship and/or contribution to the Manhattanville community.
Faculty Recognition
Awarded to a Manhattanville faculty who has displayed innovation in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and/or curriculum development. Efforts should have extended beyond the nominee’s job duties in terms of scale and quantity of work.
Staff Recognition
Awarded to a Manhattanville staff member who has displayed innovation in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in programming, community engagement, advocacy/and or service. Efforts should have extended beyond the nominee’s job duties in terms of scale and quantity of work
Alumni Recognition
Awarded to a Manhattanville alum who has enriched the community through embracing the principles of social justice, equity, diversity, and/or inclusion in perspective and action.
Intergroup Collaboration Recognition
Awarded to individuals, offices, student groups who have collaborated to address a critical issue of diversity, equity and/or inclusion at Manhattanville)
Nominate a deserving member of our community.
