Brian Carolan

Brian V. Carolan, PhD, is Dean of the School of Education at Manhattanville University.  He earned his PhD in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.  Prior to joining Manhattanville, he was Dean of the School for Graduate Studies at SUNY Empire State University and Dean of Graduate Studies at Sacred Heart University. A sociologist of education whose research has focused on the relationship between school-level characteristics and academic achievement, he has also held tenured faculty appointments at Montclair State University and the College of Staten Island, CUNY.
