I chose Manhattanville because of its excellent academic programs as well as its friendly and small school atmosphere. Manhattanville has given me the opportunity to grow socially, academically, and athletically. Something I enjoy doing at Manhattanville is watching and supporting our athletic teams by going to the various home games. I am also a member of the Student Government as the Athletics Representative where I advocate and support our athletic teams and programs.

My name is Roo Cameron and I am a Junior Musical theater major. I’m also from Warsaw, Ohio. I work for admissions with a great team of people in the castle! When I am not working with Reslife or admissions / in class or in rehearsals, I am choreographing for Manhattanville Dance Ensemble as their Vice President, organizing events, or just hanging out with my friends.

Some clubs that I am part of at Manhattanville are BSA (Black Student Association), LASO (Latin American Student Organization), and I am also a Clark Scholar. Ever since I got an in-person, in depth biography of Manhattanville from one of the admissions counselors here, I knew that it was going to be my second home. I fell in love with the diversity of the staff, the quietness of the campus, the tight-knit community, and the education program that was offered here. It was easily the best choice I made for my higher education career.

Major: Digital Media
Production & Business Management
Del Rio, TX
I chose Manhattanville for the easy transfer of credits and the major Digital Media
Production. In high school I took Dual Credit classes, and those credits were able
to transfer here, letting me accelerate through my major. Being able to do so, allowed
me to declare another major, Business Management. I’ve grown in two different fields
in just four years!
Through my time on campus, I was able to restart our Radio Station – WMVL. It is
now an internet-based radio station, with 14 live shows, and is growing! Moreover,
I am an RA and it’s just another way to be actively involved with my community! I
host movie nights, hula hoop competitions, sewing tutorials, and pizza parties! I
look forward to being able to DJ for Quad Jam this spring and help with the planning
and organizing of the event!

I chose Manhattanville because I found my admission process to be such a great experience in comparison to other schools I was applying to, as well as the diversity that the campus has to offer. I am certain that coming to Mville was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Involvement is something that has allowed me exposure to making great friendships and connections as well as gaining new experiences that will most certainly be helpful in the future. I am President of Latin Fusion which is one of the dance clubs/ teams on campus, as well as part of LASO (Latin American Student Organization). These clubs I'm involved with have allowed me to express my culture in many ways and continue to provide an inclusive safe space to do the things I love.

I enjoy the small community we have here in Manhattanville University. I love walking around the campus and enjoy its beautiful nature. It makes it easy to get to know people and navigate your way out throughout the college. Moreover, academically, you have the opportunity to get to know your professors on a personal level, which allows them to get to know you and your needs. This creates an environment where you feel safe to express yourself and get the best experience out of your college life. I also love being a part of the International Club, as an international student.

I chose Manhattanville because not only is it close to home, but I also felt I could really fit in here. Manhattanville ended up becoming my second home or a home away from home. Since we are a small school, we do have such a close-knit community. Which makes it easy for us as students to not only make friends but connections with our professors and peers. Something interesting about myself is I started working in admissions my freshman year of college and have been here since. When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time at Manhattanville hanging out with friends and of course making new ones, going to the Market and game zone on campus and lastly the library to get my work and assignments done.

I chose to come to Manhattanville because of the warm, welcoming feeling you get when stepping on to this campus. It felt like a home away from home for me before I was even enrolled. Making friends and connections with both classmates, professors, and peers has never been easier at Manhattanville. The valiant community is truly like a family. I look forward to joining the Pre-Law Society next semester and continuing my work as a student ambassador!

I chose Manhattanville (Mville) because of the theater program along with what they have to offer for my major. I toured and loved the campus so much; it is so gorgeous. I feel this school really fits me as someone who likes small classes, acceptance, and doing extra activities. I love to hang around campus and go to the market or gym. Some days I go to the practice rooms and sing for a little as I heavily enjoy Musical Theater. I am a part of the LG(B)TQ+ community and have found a lot of peace within it all at this campus as there is diversity in so many aspects. Overall, this school really stood out to me based off my interests, my major, and most importantly myself.

I chose Manhattanville because it was the place that I felt would allow me to grow the most as an individual, aswell as learn skills I did not know I needed to be successful, because I am a first generation college student.
Manhattanville is only 20 minutes away from my home, as well as my previous volleyball club and school.

Year: Freshman
Major: Nursing
Putnam Valley, NY
I came to Manhattanville because I felt like it would be a great fit for me and it has been. I love that we have small class sizes and that I am not just a number to my teachers. I also love the dynamics of this school. I always call it a big little school because it is just big enough that you may not know everyone but small enough that there is still an amazing community here. I love to hang out with my friends at the market, I’m almost always studying and I love to read!

Year: Freshman
Major: Musical Theatre and Psychology

I am a resident on campus, and I am part of Royalty Steppers, the Black Student Association (BSA), the Latin American Student Organization (LASO), Broadway at Manhattanville (BAM), and Clark Scholars. I love hanging out with friends on campus, anywhere from the lounge in Spellman Hall to the seating area in the market. I chose to come here because I wanted to be far from home but not too far so that I can’t visit home from time to time.
Fiona Phelps
Year: Sophomore
Major: Musical Theater
minor in Dance
Chatham, New York.
I chose to come to Manhattanville because of the close-knit community and the endless opportunities to explore the things that interested me. Because of the closeness to the city and the many interesting classes and clubs that are offered, I really found I was able to be a very active part of the Mville community and become super involved, especially in the arts. On campus I am in two different dance clubs (Manhattanville Dance Troupe and MIMO), I am a Clark Scholar and a part of Manhattanville’s Castle Scholars Honors program. As a part of the service scholarship I run a community service program called Art of Dance for kids from the community. Beyond that I enjoy spending time with my friends around campus, singing in the practice rooms and going into the city!

What made me choose Manhattanville was the wonderful programs that they have here for accommodations with learning disabilities. As well as the great philosophy and psychology professors and programs. I like to walk around and take in the beautiful scenery that is our campus and the beauty that is the castle. I love the fact that I get to say I went to a school with a castle – not everyone gets to say that.

I chose Manhattanville because of the beautiful campus and the amazing Musical Theater program. I’m a part of the Manhattanville dance ensemble and Broadway at Manhattanville which are two of the amazing clubs on campus. One of my favorite events on campus is Red Madness, in the Fall. I am involved with many different clubs and organizations on campus such as Pride Club, Castle Concerts, Music Interest Club, Storytelling and Gaming Appreciation (SAGA), and Student Government Association (SGA). Along with these different clubs and organizations, I am also an active Clark Scholar. I chose Manhattanville because the admissions staff was helpful and welcoming during the admission process. Overall, the people on campus are so accepting whether they are staff or students. Our campus is extremely diverse, and I have never felt as if I was an outsider at this school. Being a part of the Manhattanville community means you are part of a family.

I chose Manhattanville University primarily for its outstanding athletic programs. I have adapted into the community as an athlete on campus making it possible to create relations with other students. Our sporting community has a sense of togetherness with teams showing constant support for other teams by coming to games. Beyond athletics, Manhattanville does a good job uniting the campus with a wide variety of sports, clubs and organizations offered. Another reason I chose Manhattanville University was because of the close-knit community. Having smaller class sizes has provided me with the opportunity to create relationships with both professors and classmates which has significantly added to my academic success.

I chose Manhattanville University because the campus alone was so beautiful, and the castle really caught my attention. It was important for me to attend a small school, but also wanted to experience being away from home, and find who I am as a person. Something that I like to do here on campus is go to the gym and go out for walks around campus. In my time at Manhattanville, I have joined Latin American Student Organization (LAS)) and I am constantly looking forward to Red Madness and Quad Jam.

I’m a Castle Scholar and am in several performance based clubs including Manhattanville Dance Ensemble and one of our acapella groups, Manhattanville Sounds. I chose Manhattanville because it is a smaller school, so there’s always a sense of community when here on campus!

Manhattanville University brings people together from everywhere. I’ve chosen Mville because of this and its variety in culture and students. Also, its ability to make us feel at home, even when we can be so far away. When I don’t have class or work I usually go to the gym or go for a run on campus. You will always find me at Starbucks, at least five times in a day drinking coffee.
