No, but it is strongly encouraged. Every college is unique in its processes, and there is a lot of useful information shared at Parent Orientation. It is especially useful if your student is the first member of the family attending college, and/or you still have questions about Manhattanville College and next steps leading up to the fall.

No, Manhattanville College does not charge parents or students any fees for attending Orientation.
When should I arrive for Orientation?

Can I use this as an opportunity to meet with a specific office or department?
Yes, during the first day of sessions, you will have an opportunity to make a follow-up appointment with several of the different support offices, like Financial Aid and Student Accounts, Disability Services, Academic Advising, and more.
When does Orientation end?
Orientation ends with our "True Conversations" closing session on the first day, starting at 5:30 p.m. Please note that it is perfectly acceptable if a parent/guardian needs to step away for work or other obligations, and return at a later time.
Do I have to stay the entire time?
The parent program is designed to provide you with information to support the transition of a student starting college. While we encourage you to attend the entire program, we understand if you can only participate in some of the programs offered. PLEASE NOTE: YOUR STUDENT MUST ATTEND ALL PROGRAMS ON BOTH DAYS OF ORIENTATION.
