About Me

Susan Bretti brings over 20 years of experience in education to the Director of the Jump Start Program and Changing Suburbs Institute positions.  She joined Manhattanville in the fall of 2019 as a Jump Start Mentor and took on the roles of Adjunct Professor and Field Supervisor the following spring.   In addition to Ms. Bretti’s experience in higher education, she served as the principal of Washington Irving Intermediate School in Tarrytown, Elementary Consulting Teacher and classroom teacher in the Bedford Central School District.  Like many of the Jump Start students, Ms. Bretti is a career changer having spent 10 years in the data / telecommunications industry before earning her Master of Science degree in Teaching.  Rounding out her work experience, Ms. Bretti served as the Assistant Director of Operations for the Community Center of Northern Westchester, a non-profit agency serving underprivileged families in Northern Westchester.
