Professor Nayma Qayum joined the Manhattanville faculty on 2015 after receiving her Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She is an Associate Professor of Political Science, and teaches a wide range of classes including Comparative Politics, Global and International Studies, and Asian studies. Dr. Qayum’s research interests include institutions, elections and participation, gender, and development. She has held research positions at BRAC Bangladesh and UNDP New York. A frequent contributor to the Washington Post, Dr. Qayum’s monograph, Village Ties: Women, NGOs, and Informal Institutions in Rural Bangladesh was published by Rutgers University Press in 2021.
