About Me

A senior learning and development specialist, performance consultant, and coach, Kathy Meany demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, strong executive relationships, and fiduciary responsibilities. She offers a global and multi-disciplined background in the development and delivery of core business skills training, leadership development programs, multicultural training, customer service training, technical application training, career-transition training with expertise in talent management, organizational development, global client relationship management, and global project management. She has successfully directed and led learning and development departments within global Fortune 500 corporations, demonstrating resourcefulness, reliability, and integrity, strategically focusing on improved staff performance and the client experience. She brings a wealth of experience developing innovative blended learning journeys, enabling clients to align staff development with their specific business priorities and strategic imperatives, and to achieve knowledge transfer through sustainability and measurement activities. Target audiences include both individual contributors and executive leadership. Client industries comprise nonprofit, financial services, pharmaceuticals, publishing, consumer products, food services, e-commerce, technology, media, employee services, transportation, and the U.S. Armed Forces. Training facilitations have taken her around the globe to such locations as London, Munich, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangalore, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, and more. In 2009, Meany launched Phoenix Learning Solutions, LLC, in order to provide visionary solutions for global corporations’ learning and development needs. Performance consulting services include analysis, instructional design, curriculum development, facilitation, and evaluation for corporations in all industries. She has successfully guided corporations in achieving role competencies by developing learning journeys to ensure professional development, career development, and succession planning goals are met. She also instructs Organizational Learning and Coaching, and Organization Development and Change as an adjunct professor at a local college in Westchester County, N.Y., and is a career transition trainer for the Department of Labor, facilitating career workshops at New York metropolitan-area bases. Meany is a past president of the American Society for Training and Development, NY Metro Chapter; she is currently vice president and chapter liaison, and has held various vice-presidential positions on the Board of Directors since 2006. She founded ASTDNY’s successful Transition SIG in 2009. She is also a member of ASTD National, SHRM, WHRMA, and ODNNY. Community projects include facilitation at NYC’s Virtual Enterprise Program for New York City high school students, and various education programs sponsored by Westchester Human Resource Management Association.
