David Seigerman has been an adjunct professor in the sports studies department at Manhattanville since spring of 2021. He has taught Sport Communications and Media and the special topics class, Baseball: Pastime or Past Time? David is the author of six books, including Take Your Eye Off the Ball: How to Watch Football By Knowing Where to Look (Triumph Books, 2010) with Pat Kirwan, and Under Pressure: How Playing Football Almost Cost Me Everything and Why I'd Do It All Again (Triumph Books, 2014) with Ray Lucas. Over the course of more than thirty years in sports journalism, he has written for newspapers, magazines and digital outlets (most recently, he wrote a series of features before the 2020 and 2022 Olympics for TeamUSA.org, worked in television as a producer, writer, and managing editor, hosted a radio talk show, produced documentaries and podcasts, including his own sports storytelling series, Out of Left Field, which will drop an overdue new season in 2022. David graduated from Ithaca College with a BA in English. He is entering a period of unprecedented optimism toward his beloved Mets, Jets, and Rangers, though he really should know better by now.
