About Me

Dr. Caralyn Bialo is an assistant professor of English specializing in medieval and Renaissance literature. Dr. Bialo is a Westchester native who earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and creative writing at the University of Pennsylvania. She moved to the West Coast upon graduation; while there she explored multiple career options, including journalism and book publishing, before returning to academia to earn a Ph.D. in English literature at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Bialo’s courses, which cover texts such as “Beowulf” and “Paradise Lost,” focus on medieval and Renaissance poetry, drama and performance, and gender studies. Her research explores Renaissance genre, performance and gender, and polemic in the early print market.
