PURCHASE, NY – Troy L. Cogburn has been appointed Vice President for Admissions and Marketing at Manhattanville College.

Cogburn began work at the college on August 16. He will focus on creating and executing a long-term admissions and enrollment marketing strategy.

“With an interest in putting students first, it makes great sense that Troy would find his way to Manhattanville,” said Louise Feroe, Ph.D., Acting President of Manhattanville, in an announcement. “Troy was instrumental in affecting fundamental transformation at previous institutions, with solid strategies for improvement, making them places that were more attentive and considerate of student needs.”

Cogburn joins Manhattanville with years of experience and a record of accomplishment that includes recent service as Associate VP for Enrollment Management at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia with oversight of undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, and military and veteran’s services. He also led the effort in developing a comprehensive digital and print admissions marketing strategy. During his prior service at Manhattan College as Director of Transfer Admissions, he met or exceeded his enrollment targets each year and helped the college to achieve a transfer retention rate of 90%. He also led the effort to establish and grow a student veteran community and assisted in the expansion of the jail-to-college program, Inside Out.

“I was drawn to Manhattanville because of its rich history and its mission to educate students to be ethical and socially-responsible leaders,” said Cogburn. “I am thrilled to join the college at a time of great momentum – with the growth of popular programs such as sport studies and communications and media in our School of Arts and Sciences in addition to the new Radiologic Technology program in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.”

Cogburn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts from the University of Tampa in Florida and obtained a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Manhattan College. He is a past President of the New York State Transfer and Articulation Association, has been a writing contributor for CollegeXpress, and has partnered with the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in New York since 2016 as mentor for New York’s One2One Workshop for Young Men of Color.
