Office of the President Announcement
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Edward Manetta as Director of Athletics, effective November 13, 2017.
As Director of Athletics, Edward will be responsible for maintaining the rich tradition of Valiant athletics at Manhattanville College which includes not only ensuring competitive sports teams but also high academic standards for our athletes. He will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all NCAA standards and for the high standards of excellence for our coaches and the department. In addition, he will be overseeing our efforts to engage alumni, community members and outside organizations to increase fundraising and partnership opportunities for the athletics department and the College as a whole.
Ed brings to us many years of experience in college athletics as well as extensive sports marketing experience. He began his career as an Assistant Athletic Director at Fordham University, and progressed to serve as Athletic Director at both DePaul University and St. John’s University.
In addition, he has served as the Senior Vice President at both Edelman Worldwide and Hill and Knowlton. He held the position of CEO at Worldwide Marketing and Communications and was a partner at the Union Square Agency. Just prior to accepting the position at Manhattanville, he was the Director of Sports Programming at the Barclay’s Center and Nassau Coliseum.
He has a wealth of proven leadership experience in developing and overseeing programs and events (including Olympic events and the World Cup), and creating relationships and securing corporate sponsorships. Ed received his M.A.in Communication Management from Fordham University and his B.S. in Athletic Administration/Business Administration from St. John’s University. I would also like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Assistant Director of Athletics Julene Caulfield for serving the College so capably as Interim Director of Athletics while we were searching for a new Director.
