Manhattanville College is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, conducting internal audits, performing payroll reconciliations and maintaining accounts payable documentation. The position reports to the Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations for various accounts
- Monitor prepaid assets, deposits, all student deposits and maintain the monthly roll-forward schedule
- Validate and record all month end accrual entries. Coordinate booking the monthly accruals and monitor the accrual activity and impact on the departments
- Review transactions and ensure proper application of policies and procedures
- Completion of month-end, year-end and audit schedules and analyses
- Assist in processing bi-weekly, student and monthly payroll
- Assist in completing payroll reconciliations, as needed
- Assist with the month-end closing process
- Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in accounting from an accredited four-year college
- Minimum two to three years of accounting experience including preparation of reconciliations, analyses and journal entries
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong communication and team skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Colleague and related systems a plus
- Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, ability to work independently, and handle levels of responsibility required

Salary:
Depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, the annual salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000

The Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is seeking a dual-role administrative assistant to support the functions of the Center for Inclusion and the Office of International Students & Study Abroad (OISS). Office hours are split between the two offices. In addition to managing two offices, the position serves as the assistant for one director, an international student services advisor, and two program coordinators and has heavy student interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative assistance and support to Center for Inclusion and the Office of International Students & Study Abroad (OISS).
- Maintain an organized, professional environment and develop recommendations for procedures and systems to ensure smooth office operations.
- Receive, review and distribute incoming communications including mail, telephone calls and e-mail messages, helping or making referrals as necessary.
- Process payment of invoices/credit card expense report/order office supplies
- Attend administrative meetings, taking minutes and following through with issues raised
- Assist as requested in departmental programming
- Verify and record student service hours, time sheets, or other required forms on a regular basis
- Prepare reports, newsletter, flyers, brochures or other communication documents as directed.
- Manage online program calendar and databases
- Advise, monitor, and track academic and service performance of students as requested
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s considered
- Knowledge and comfortability with issues in diversity/inclusion/intersectionality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher or other web design software strongly recommended or willingness to be trained
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills

The Part-time Assistant Coordinator (AC) at Manhattanville College is a 10-month, live-in position. As staff members who facilitate community life and engagement, student and staff development, and crisis management; ACs fulfill an integral role within our department, as they shape the residential and commuter student experience on campus. The ACs work to support administrative and digital work of the department, crisis support, conference support and fulfillment of the College mission through a focus on development of students through the division competencies. There are three (3) AC positions within the department each with shared responsibilities and one unique area of responsibility for each.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Community and Student Development
- Be an active and engaged member of the Manhattanville community
- Create opportunities for growth by being a role model, confronting student behavior, enforcing community standards, and providing leadership opportunities within the community
- Support traditionally underrepresented students by being aware of the needs of various student populations and creating an inclusive community which celebrates difference
- Promote activities and involvement in campus life
Student Conduct and Crisis Management
- Responsible for interpreting and upholding the university’s rules and regulations in a developmental manner
- Serve in an on-call rotation for a population of 1000 residential students
- Respond to crisis situations, such as medical or facilities related emergencies, behavioral concerns, and mental health situations
- Serve as a resource and referral agent for students’ academic, identity, and social needs
- Regularly consult with members of the professional staff about at-risk students and RAs
- As a member of the essential staff team, community life staff are to remain on campus during emergency situations in order to respond to student needs
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain 20 weekly office-hours, including meetings
- Serve s a member of the Late Nite and Weekend Programming work group, creating, planning and implementing programs and events for the College.
- Assist with all opening and closings of the residence halls; including the beginning and end of each semester and vacation periods
- Assist in the implementation of all large scale College-wide programming and events such as Fall festival and Quad Jam
- Represent Community Life at open house, orientation, and other campus admission events as needed
Professional Development
- Actively participate in professional development activities by creating an annual professional development plan with the assistance of supervisor
- Participate in staff training and development opportunities offered by the department and the Division of Student Affairs
- Be involved in regional and national professional organizations and, when possible, attend local, regional, and national conferences
Communication and Marketing
- Oversee the departmental communication efforts; including newsletters; all social media and print materials.
- Manage and create/curate content for office social media platforms.
- Work with student employees and volunteers to create dynamic and engaging communications.
- Work with the Assistant Dean and Associate Directors to create branding and communication plan for the department.
- Assist student clubs, organizations and student staff in their advertising and communication needs.
- Report to the Associate Director for Campus Life.
Technology and Operations
- Work with the Associate Director to manage the housing and engagement management systems.
- Facilitate the room change process as directed by the Associate Director.
- Implement the move-in and move-out processes; monitor the moving bins; status of room condition reports; assist in key management.
- Develop marketing for housing processes and conference services including, but not limited to Room Selection, Health & Safety Inspections, Break Housing, etc.
- Work with AD for Community Life to update publications (print, electronic and social media) that educate stakeholders about housing options.
- Track and manage invoices for conference services.
- Regularly participate in building walkthroughs to ensure safe and high-quality spaces.
- Update Community Life website, in consultation with AD for Community Life.
- Report to the Associate Director for Community Life.
Student Support and Response
- Assist in roommate mediations and resolution of issues.
- Track and assist in crisis and care follow-up to students.
- Assist in fire safety inspections and violation follow-up.
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of undergraduate staff.
- Plan and facilitate training sessions, staff development activities, and on-going professional development for Resident Advisors.
- Assist RAs with the purchasing of supplies and program planning.
- Report to the Associate Director for Residence Life.
Required Qualifications:
Familiarity with student leadership and/or residence hall systems and/or other education administration or management experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse student population, as well as have demonstrated experience related to program development, student development and working with groups.
This is a part-time position, which requires 20 office hours per week in addition to evening and weekend work, plus on-call responsibilities. Employment agreement begins in mid-July and runs through the end of May. Employment is subject to review and renewal on an annual basis. A limited number of summer positions are available for additional compensation. While in the position, ACs may have no more than 15 hours total of external commitments including but not limited to outside employment, organization involvement, athletic team participation, internships, external internships, etc.

Salary and Compensation:
Each AC will receive the following compensation:
- $5000 stipend for 10 months of employment – August through May
- A single occupancy room in graduate housing or a single room in a two-bedroom apartment
- One room-waiver per semester (est: $5737.00)
- Meal plan each semester of 15 meals a week + $100 pub cash (est. $2,920)
- One campus parking registration waiver (est.: $200.00)
- Per semester laundry fee waiver (est.: $60.00)

Manhattanville College is seeking a part-time Costume Designer. The Costume Designer is responsible for maintaining the Costume Shop and designing costumes for productions in Dance, Theatre, and Musical Theatre. The position reports to the Chair of the Division of Arts and Humanities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Costume Shop:
- Organize and maintain the Costume Shop so that all costumes can be easily located
- Ensure all costumes are properly hung and stored
- Maintain costumes that need special care, mending, and preservation
- Periodically purge costumes that are beyond repair
- Catalog new and existing costumes in the Costume Collection Catalog
- Design, build, construct, fit, purchase online, launder, maintain, and rent costumes for all plays, musicals, and dance concerts
- Communicate with directors and choreographers regarding their costume needs for productions, course projects, and photo/film shoots
- Attend rehearsals to see the productions prior to designing costumes
- Build, construct, and fit costumes for productions
- Work with Production Manager to rent costumes if needed
- In consultation with the Production Manager and Directors, attend production meetings with technical and design crews
- Attend Tech Week for dress rehearsals to ensure the smooth running of costume needs

- Develop and deliver student programming and workshops that supports an inclusive and welcoming campus community
- Provide logistical support for major community events and initiatives to engage students from under-represented populations
- Design, market, and implement cultural heritage and identity month celebrations
- Develop and coordinate special programs featuring local alums, educators, community leaders, business representatives, and government officials
- Develop newsletters, flyers, and/ or brochures as requested. Maintain bulletin boards.
- Assist in analyzing trends and data for reports
- Partner in developing and providing strategies, resources, and programs for historically underrepresented and international students that promote dialogue, mattering and belonging
- Champion thoughtful use of student engagement platforms
- Participate and assist with college-wide committees, programs, activities, and or training as needed.
- Support and collaborate with Multi-Cultural Student Clubs and Organizations
