Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am delighted to invite you, on behalf of the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling Executive Board, to the 42nd Annual NYSACAC Annual Conference, Tuesday, June 2 to Friday, June 5, 2020, at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. The Annual Conference offers stimulating educational sessions, dynamic networking opportunities, and a relaxed atmosphere to exchange and create best practices with colleagues.
Twenty-three years ago, the Coming Together Conference, which focuses on issues related to inclusion, access, and success in the secondary and post-secondary settings, held its first gathering at Manhattanville College. This year, Coming Together celebrates the return to its starting place with the theme of “Homecoming” and begins midday on June 2nd. With the challenges across institutions related to cultural competency, awareness, and fluency, I recommend that you join us for Coming Together which promises to be enlightening and transformational. Immediately following Coming Together and beginning the afternoon of June 3, the Annual Conference provides forums for in-depth thinking and timely discussion of critical concerns in college admissions, student development, relevant educational policies and initiatives, and more, with lasting takeaways and helpful resources for your day-to-day work.
This year’s Annual Conference theme is “A World of Possibilities” and the possibilities are truly endless for your professional development this June. If this will be your first conference, you’ve participated before a few times, or you are a long-time attendee, I promise that you will leave this conference with a rejuvenated sense of purpose and mission. In our diverse community that includes secondary, CBO, college, independent counselors, other colleagues dedicated to access work, and our vendor partners, the conference gives us unique opportunities and possibilities to learn from each other. Whether it’s during an educational session or over a meal, we inspire each other to do our best work in helping students to navigate the process from secondary school through college completion.
Please check your NYSACAC membership status, as conference registration will include NYSACAC member discounts, and early bird registration by early May. There will also be an option to apply for a conference grant, or to donate to fund a school or CBO counselor otherwise unable to attend.
We look forward to welcoming you to a world of possibilities at NYSACAC 2020.
