Manhattanville Achievement Program
MAP Summer Intensive ProgramThe Manhattanville Achievement Program (MAP) is a need-based program that provides an affordable education with on-campus support for students. Eligible students must be first-time college students and Pell Eligible. The MAP scholarship is a four-year commitment for incoming first-year students.
Students receive a broad range of services including academic, personal, and career counseling. Beyond the traditional academic focus of most scholarship programs, MAP encourages the development of the student as a whole — intellectually, ethically, and socially. Students are encouraged towards these aims by fostering community service, student leadership development, and goal-oriented self-management.
First-Year Students must comply with the these requirements in order to maintain their MAP status and funding:
- Complete and pass the Summer Intensive Program (10-day program in late August; Students will take two classes over the summer (Math and Writing Composition)
- Enroll and pass MVL 1001.01 Atlas Passport A (3 credit course)
- Strive to maintain a GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Students who fall below a 2.8 GPA cumulative will be required to attend weekly study session in the Writing Center
- Complete 10 tutoring hours in the Writing Center
- Attend 2 Academic Resource (ARC) Events during the academic year
- Complete 15 hours of community service per semester sponsored by the Clark Center
- Community Service hours must be completed in all four categories (community service, social justice, activism, and advocacy)
- Attend 4 campus events per semester (1 from each category - Academic, School Spirit, Diversity/Inclusion, and Career)
- Participate in at least one club/organization during the Fall and Spring semester
- Mandatory attendance at both Fall and Spring MAP Back 2 School Nights (September and January)
- Mandatory bi-weekly meetings with the director of the Center for Inclusion
In order to become a candidate for MAP:
1. Complete your http://www.commonapp.org/
2. Complete your MAP Application. Application is now available for the Fall 2021 cohort!
3. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the beginning of October 1st. Manhattanville school code is 002760. An applicant’s financial eligibility is determined by the information to provide. Please review our economic eligibility.
Upon completion of all the required documents, all selected applicants will be contacted for a MAP interview. Interviews will be held on-campus or via phone during the end of February.
