Meet the Center for Career Development

The Center for Career Development supports and empowers students and alumni to make important decisions that integrate academic studies and life experiences with career planning. We strive to promote faculty, alumni and employer partnerships to generate opportunities that help students and alumni to discover their career potential and meet their career goals. Services are available for current Manhattanville College undergraduates who are enrolled as full-time or part time students, graduate students that are enrolled full time or half time, students enrolled in continuing education programs, and alumni.

Meghan Makarczuk
Director of Career Development

As Director of CCD, Meghan Makarczuk is responsible for the successful placement of Manhattanville graduates into the workforce and graduate programs, along with maintaining oversight of career development, internships, student employment, corporate and community outreach, and career services for alumni.

Before joining Manhattanville College, Meghan worked for five years in career development, applying her holistic counseling style to offer a supportive, collaborative, and encouraging, yet structured approach to meet the individual needs of both students and alumni. Meghan is passionate about her work, committed to supporting students through all aspects of career decision making including career exploration, skill enhancement, informational interviewing and effective networking.  

Meghan is an alumna of Iona College and Long Island University, and has a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. Ed. in School Counseling.

Manching Tom

Manching Tom
Assistant Director of Student Employment

Manching Tom has been involved with student employment at Manhattanville since 2002. She serves as the Human Resources Liaison for all student employees and campus employers. She coordinates the Federal Work-Study Program and enforces the College’s employment program regulations. She identifies on and off campus opportunities and assists students with job search as well as counseling students on all aspects of career development.  A graduate of San Francisco State University, Manching enjoyed an extensive performing career with various ballet companies before her transition to administration. Prior to her appointment at Manhattanville, she served as the Managing Director of Ballet Arts, a professional dance studio in New York City, for 15 years. She looks forward to her continued collaboration with our faculty, staff and the CCD team to support both students and alumni throughout their career journey. 

In addition, she has been a Barre Class Instructor for the Cigna Wellness Program since Fall 2020 and was a former Ballet Adjunct Instructor for the Dance and Theatre Department.

Dora Moreira
Career Counselor (Career Development Specialist for First Year Students & School of Education Liaison)

Dora serves as the Career Counselor, assisting in developing and implementing career services activities, including counseling components to first-year students and serves as a liaison to the School of Education's undergraduate and graduate programs. Dora has a passion for student success through strategic programs and initiatives. Before starting at Manhattanville College, Dora has over three years of experience in higher education. With a background in assessment and accreditation, she has worked closely with faculty and administrators to support best practice in assessment activities to improve student learning and the student experience.  Dora holds a B.A. in Psychology and is a proud alumna of Manhattanville College. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Iona College.

Amy R. Surratt
Employer Relations Associate

Amy has a passion for community, collaboration, and education. As Associate Producer for La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in NYC (Best Regional Theatre TONY Award, 2018) Amy served for eight years as an essential liaison and coordinator between artists, staff, and audiences ensuring excellent communication and successful project management. Amy also formerly taught as an Adjunct Lecturer at Manhattanville College and is looking forward to returning to the community and to the students as they pursue their career goals. Olivia Marriott
Office Coordinator

Olivia has a diverse background of study in Marketing, Dance, and Theatre. Olivia is a Manhattanville College alumna and worked as a student office assistant for CCD prior to her graduation. She is currently working towards a Master's in Marketing and Communications Management. Olivia has a passion for helping students connect with career opportunities that will help them develop as confident professionals. She looks forward to being a part of the CCD mission and supporting students during this critical time of career exploration.
