New Canaan residents Dave Torromeo and George Pyne, who are both sports industry leaders, recently joined forces at Manhattanville College’s Sport Business Management’s annual Sports Business Career Fair at the school’s campus in Purchase, N.Y.
Torromeo is the architect and executive director of Manhattanville’s Sport Business Management graduate program since its inception in 2006.
Pyne, who is a leading sports management executive, was the keynote speaker. He is the founder and CEO of Bruin Sports Capital, a sports media and branded lifestyle company, as well as the former president of both NASCAR and Sports and Entertainment at IMG.
Top-name industry brands such as ESPN, The USTA, Madison Square Garden, Topps, WFAN/CBS Sports, MET Golf Association, Steiner Sports and the Westchester Knicks were among the more than 25 exhibitors at the event. Close to 300 attendees pursuing a career in sports and other areas of business met with hiring executives from the exhibiting companies.
“We were thrilled to once again offer our career fair and networking event as an extension of our successful Sport Business Management graduate program,” said Torromeo. “The turnout was terrific.”
