New programs bring opportunities… and they also bring risks. As an HR professional, you might be responsible for operations inside the HR department as well as for programs, policies, and risks for all the staff in the company. You also know that business initiatives started elsewhere in the firm can carry people-focused risks that other business leaders might not have considered. This workshop introduces the tools of the tools of enterprise risk management (ERM) that can help HR professionals learn to better assess, manage, and avoid these risks.

This workshop leverages international standards for risk management and hands-on problem solving to train human resource professionals to better:

  • Identify and assess risks within a human resource function
  • Apply a framework for deciding which risks to take, which to mitigate, which need greatest attention
  • Become the go-to resource for your organization’s strategic planning for risks that apply to all workers
  • Identify risk management issues on which to selectively engage executives, management, or staff

Topics Covered

  • Applying the framework of international standard for risk management (ISO 31000) to a human resource function
  • Conducting a first-ever HR-risk assessment or updating a prior assessment
  • Assessing HR risk management issues in other parts of your organization
  • Key tools for managing HR risk

Audience

  • HR Professionals or those in positions that provide HR Services to smaller organizations.
  • SHRM PDCs: This program is valid for 3.75 SHRM PDC’s.
