The goal of this interactive workshop is to give the participant a basic understanding of budgets and financial reports so they can hold relevant discussions and render decisions based on financial data, defining key terms like ROI, EBIT, and GAAP. Furthermore, this half-day course will discuss commonly used financial terms, financial statements, budgets, forecasting, purchasing decisions, and laws that regulate the handling of financial information. Activities throughout include instructionally sound exercises (case studies, self-assessment, discussions, professional experiential learning, etc.)

After completing this workshop, participants should emerge with an improved ability to:

  • Identify financial terminology
  • Learn how to read financial statements
  • Identify how to analyze financial statements
  • Define and manage your budget
  • Identify the legal aspects of finances

About the Instructor

Kathy Meany is a Certified Professional in Training Management; she offers global and multi-disciplined background in the design and delivery of leadership and professional development programs. She is a Certified Practitioner in MBTI™ and Taking Flight with DISC. As Director of the Women’s Leadership Institute at Manhattanville School of Business, Kathy brings together women leaders in the community to develop themselves professionally through programs and events, conferences, and more.
