Black at Manhattanville (BAM)

BAM Alumni is an organization designed to create space and community for Black Manhattanville students, past and present. Our intent is to foster, maintain and support a mutually-beneficial relationship between black alumni and the college.

Objectives and Goals

Purpose 

This organization serves:

  • as a liaison between Black Manhattanville College alumni and Manhattanville College
  • to provide a critical role to advocate for support for scholarships and financial aid that will directly benefit Black Students
  • to work in partnership with the Alumni Board and serve as a source of ideas about matters of concern for Black Alumni and Students
  • to support anti-racism efforts on campus

Connection 

This organization serves:

  • to encourage and enhance opportunities for Black alumni to foster personal and professional networks
  • to provide support for current Black Manhattanville College students and alumni through mentorship and networking opportunities
  • as a resource to share the talents and expertise of Black alumni with students, faculty and staff at Manhattanville College

Community 

This organization serves:

  • to acknowledge the legacy, contributions and accomplishments of Black Alumni
  • to support the College's efforts to recruit and retain a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • to guide students as they navigate and overcome obstacles throughout their academic career at Manhattanville and beyond
