Accepted International Student Checklist 2020

You got in, great! Now, what?

Please complete the following tasks.  These are tasks that need to be completed prior to arrival - this list is only for international students requiring a visa to attend the college.  There is also a second checklist that ALL new students (this includes internationals) must complete and you can find it here.

Though you have been admitted to the college. The U.S. government requires you to financially qualify for your immigration documents. If you haven’t already submitted the College Board Certificate of Finances, you can find forms and information here. FORMS

Manhattanville College is permitted, for Fall 2020 only, to share your immigration documents (I-20) with you electronically, using Sharepoint.

  • After you have demonstrated your finances by following the steps outlined, we will create your document in SEVIS, and then load the file into Sharepoint.
  • We will email you a link to your file. It is essential that you have created your Manhattanville login and use Manhattanville email for this process.
  • You will then need to PRINT the I-20 and take it to the local US Consulate for your visa interview.
  • Your immigration documents cannot be emailed.

    Once you receive your immigration documents you can take action.

  • Review your F-1 I-20 / J-1 DS-2019 – it’s the one with the bright sticker
  • Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee PAY 901
  • Begin online VISA process using DS-160 application GET VISA
  • Pay the DS-160 application fee
  • Schedule your VISA interview


    Your universal login will be used to access all of the Manhattanville Systems which include: Blackboard, Email, Starfish, Campus computers, etc. SET UP LOGIN

    Complete the course preference form and register to attend the August Orientation. Remember as an international student you are still required to come to our Ready, Set, Go! Pre-orietnation (see step 9) COURSE PREFERENCE & REGISTER TO ATTEND AUGUST ORIENTATION

  • New York State is very strict about supplying health history and innoculation records, so please send your forms to our Health Center as soon as possible. FORMS
  • The college health insurance policy is with Aetna Student Health AETNA LINK go to the drop down menu and find “Manhattanville College” – there you can read about the coverage. If you have another U.S. based health insurance you may be able to waive coverage.
  • Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) is our international pre-orientation program. It provides an opportunity to recover from jet lag, make new friends, get oriented to the campus and learn about college and government expectations all before the other students arrive.
  • We will take you shopping for those last minute things you will need for your room. We will also have some fun. More information about this program will arrive with your immigration documents. Please complete the form so we will know who to expect (please include family who is bringing you). WHO TO EXPECT
  • IN CASE YOU FORGOT TO REGISTER LINK You will already be on campus so attending the August Orientation is easy. There you will have the opportunity to meet other students, talk to academic advisors and learn about the services to support your education. This is where there the fun begins.
