STEEL (Specialized Techniques to Engage Each Learner) encompasses Manhattanville College School of Education’s unique cluster of program offerings in Applied Behavior Analysis, Literacy, The Rose Institute, Special Education. STEEL fortifies teachers with specialized skills so that they can work with students’ diverse learning needs and challenging behaviors (e.g., struggling readers, ADHD, autistic spectrum, developmental disabilities). Teachers of STEEL are the superheroes of P–12 classrooms!
Our Educational Leadership certification programs are offered at the post-master's level. The programs provide authentic leadership experiences aligned with relevant research in the area of educational administration. Students in the program exit with a wealth of knowledge designed to assist them in current and future leadership roles.
Doctorate in Educational Leadership
The Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership is a cohort model enabling students to be part of a community of learners during the Ed.D. program. Using courses, fieldwork, and applied research, the doctoral program prepares leaders to be responsive in identifying, developing, and applying solutions that meet the needs of students. There are three different pathways to choose from: Signature (P-12 Education), Higher Education, and Dissertation Completion.
Education for Sustainability
Utilizing emerging, critical, place, and problem-based educational theories combined with the power of thinking and working across traditional discipline boundaries, this program seeks to increase the knowledge and skills necessary for students to become agents of change within their schools, organizations, communities and institutions. Manhattanville is the only college or university in the region to offer an Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability recognized by the NYS Department of Education.
