Students and Faculty may view final exam assignments for courses in WebAdvisor. Final exam assignments will be viewable in the "public" online Schedule of Classes (click "Prospective Students") and in any class schedule that is accessible from a secure WebAdvisor menu after logging in. Students may also check their "My Schedule" screen in WebAdvisor to view final exams. Faculty may view their "Class Roster" screen to check final exam assignments. Examples of the final exam displays are shown below:
Final Exam Scheduling for the "Main" Fall and Spring Semesters:
Final exams held in the College's MAIN Fall and Spring terms do not follow the same schedule as regularly scheduled class meetings. Instead, each course is assigned a 2-hour time block during final exam week. Final exam week is published in the academic calendars.
...outlines the final exam day/time matrix the registrar's office uses to schedule finals during Exam Week within the MAIN Fall and Spring semesters. While the grid in most cases identifies the final exam day/time that will be assigned, the registrar's office must reconcile each term's courses and room assignments after add/drop to ensure exams do not overlap. Once this step is completed, the office will enter exam day/time assignments into WebAdvisor for the campus community to view.
Courses that meet in the Winter or Summer sessions and shorter “mini-term” modules will self-schedule their exams during regular class meetings.
Final exams must be held in the same room the class meets in during the term unless changed by the registrar’s office. Unauthorized changes to exam times or rooms will create scheduling conflicts for students!
Independent studies, internships and off-campus classes will NOT be assigned a final exam.
Student Final Exam Attendance Policy:
Completion of a final exam or final culminating project/presentation is a required component in the syllabus of many courses. It is every student's responsiblity to be aware of a course's academic/grading requirements and attend the final exam session when scheduled. Students in need of specialized exam accommodations may contact the Office of Disability Services. NOTE: Routine student travel plans are NOT an acceptable excuse to re-schedule or miss an exam!
Final Exams and College Closures/Cancellations:
In the event of a weather or other emergency closure of the College, the Provost, Faculty and Registrar's Office will release a revised exam schedule when the campus re-opens. An extension of the term calendar may result to accommodate completion of a term's final exam schedule.
