The Academic Resource Center provides free Peer Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction sessions. Through the ARC, students receive individual and group support in a variety of subjects at all levels of the curriculum. Tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders offer assistance to undergraduates in every major, throughout the academic year. Students are able get help with their course-work and with general study strategies that will enable them to become independent learners. In addition, undergraduates are able to gain valuable work and teaching experience by serving as Peer Tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders in the ARC.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) - Regularly scheduled review sessions are offered for many courses. SI reviews are designed to help students build study strategies and reinforce difficult concepts in a group setting. Peer Tutoring - One-on-one assistance for many classes is available. It is conducted individually or in small groups at times mutually convenient for both students and tutors.
Beginning in week 3 of the Fall and Spring semesters, students can sign up for tutoring or SI sessions through Starfish. If you need assistance scheduling an appointment, please stop by Library 122 from 10 AM-2 PM Monday-Friday, or contact the Tutoring Coordinator, Prof. Nicholas Graham, at Nicholas.Graham@mville.edu.
