Welcome to the Manhattanville College Academic Resource Center!
The Academic Resource Center provides free Peer Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction sessions. Through the ARC, students receive individual and group support in a variety of subjects at all levels of the curriculum.
Supplemental Instruction (SI):
Regularly scheduled review sessions are offered for our most challenging courses. SI sessions are designed to help students build study strategies and reinforce course concepts in a group setting.
One-on-one or small-group study help is offered for most first- and second-level courses. Sessions are conducted by appointment only, at times mutually convenient for both students and tutors.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ARC is located in Library 118.
You can make an appointment with a Peer Tutor through Bookings. Please see the Peer Tutoring page for a list of courses for which a Tutor is available.
Please see the Supplemental Instruction page for the full SI review session schedule. No appointment is needed--you can just walk right into the session.
No. However, our Peer Tutors offer a broad range of appointment times, 8AM - 9PM, seven days per week. If your course's Peer Tutor has hours of availability that conflict with your schedule, or if you're unable to attend your course's SI session, please e-mail the Tutoring Coordinator, Nicholas Graham, at nicholas.graham@mville.edu. We may be able to arrange for a Peer Tutor to meet with you outside of their regularly scheduled Tutoring hours.
Your best resource is always your professor, regardless of whether a Peer Tutor or SI is available. All Manhattanville faculty hold regular office hours to provide additional help to students. The office hours schedule should be listed on your course syllabus. Depending on your professor's preference, you can either stop by his/her office hours or make an appointment to review the course materials.
Additionally, please let us know that you're looking for help by completing this Tutor Request Form. We will do our best to recruit a Peer Tutor for your course.
Peer Tutors and SIs are trained to work with students on subject-specific material, including practice problems, study guides, and notetaking or study strategies. As such, they do not typically help students with writing assignments. However, the Writing Center offers free appointments Monday through Thursday 10AM - 9PM and Fridays 10AM - 2PM. Please see the Writing Center website for more information.
All students are welcome in SI review and Peer Tutoring sessions. Our staff is trained to help students of all abilities. If you are comfortable sharing your learning needs with the Tutor or SI, we recommend that you do so in order to ensure that we are able to most effectively help you. We maintain strict confidentiality and will not share your information with anyone, including professors.
