WHAT IS A VALIANT?

“To a valiant heart, nothing is impossible.”

From that quote comes the distinctive Manhattanville name bestowed on our sports teams in the late 1970s by Tim Cohane, Sr., a renowned sports editor and father of then men’s basketball coach, Tim Cohane. Representing the spirit of bold bravery and the will to act with courage, conviction, and moral integrity, the name represents the qualities we strive to live up to as a community. We are Valiants!
