The Business of College: Financial Navigation

Financial Aid and Student Accounts representatives will teach you how to navigate the world of student loans, payment plans and understand the functions of different departments on campus.

Student Services Parent Panel: All Hands on Deck

College is a time of transition for parents as well as students. A panel of administrators will give you valuable information on all aspects of student life at Manhattanville College. Departments include Academic Advising, Academic Resource Center, Campus Safety and Security, Career Services/Student Employment, Counseling and Health Centers, Dean of Students, Duchesne Center, Mentor/Transitional Program, Residence Life, Student Activities.

Meet Archivist Lauren Ziarko as she gives insight into the history and traditions of Manhattanville College.

Meet informally with representatives from different services and programs on campus. Join Dean of Students, Sharlise Smith-Rodriguez, as she outlines the transitions incoming students and their families encounter. This presentation will focus on how to make the most of this new phase of family life.

Special Interest Sessions

The following special topics are offered concurrently: 

What to Expect as a Parent of a Commuter Student - Location: Berman Student Center Music Room

Is your son or daughter commuting to campus? This session will describe resources and offer tips to help make their experience successful.

Dining on Campus  - What Are The Options?  Location: Berman Student Center Theatre

Representatives from Chartwells Food Service will give an overview of campus dining options and answer questions regarding meal plans.

Join technology staffers for an overview of the software students will be using and answers to any other tech-related questions you may have.

Library and Academic Resource Center, and Disability Services Open House


Familiarize yourself with the resources and services contained in the Library.  Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the main building, the multi-faceted Academic Resource Center & Writing Center, and Disability Services.

Heritage Hall and O'Byrne Chapel Tour
Reid Hall (Castle)

Join members of the Manhattanville Community as they lead an informative indoor visual tour focused on the history of the campus and the O'Bryne Chapel.

Benziger Dining Hall

If you have not already completed the Parent and Family Orientation evaluation, we ask that you complete one found in the Dining Hall. 

Student Orientation ends when your student checks out of Spellman Hall.

We ask that all students return keys and check out of Spellman Hall by 2pm 

New students will be returning for Orientation Part 2 starting Friday, August 22. More information will be emailed out and posted on the website later this summer. 

Most College departments will be open 8am – 5pm both days of orientation.
