Parent & Family Orientation

The schedule below reflects parent and family programs for Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22. 

Parents will have their orientation program on August 21. 

Your students will be attending their own programs during this time.

If your student attended orientation in July, they are able to move-in on Friday, August 22 from 8:00am - 12:00pm.

The Business of College: Financial Navigation

Financial Aid and Student Accounts representatives will teach you how to navigate the world of student loans, payment plans and understand the functions of different departments on campus.

Student Services Parent Panel: All Hands on Deck

College is a time of transition for parents as well as students. A panel of administrators will give you valuable information on all aspects of student life at Manhattanville College. Departments include Academic Advising, Academic Resource Center, Campus Safety and Security, Career Services/Student Employment, Counseling and Health Centers, Dean of Students, Duchesne Center, Mentor/Transitional Program, Residence Life, Student Activities.

Meet informally with representatives from different services and programs on campus. Join Dean of Students, Sharlise Smith-Rodriguez, as she outlines the transitions incoming students and their families encounter. This presentation will focus on how to make the most of this new phase of family life.

What to Expect as a Parent of a Commuter Student - Location: Reid Hall, President's Dining Room

Is your son or daughter commuting to campus? This session will describe resources and offer tips to help make their experience successful.

Dining on Campus  - What Are The Options?  Location: Reid Hall, East Library

Representatives from Chartwells Food Service will give an overview of campus dining options and answer questions regarding meal plans.

July Orientation Students Move-in
Spellman Hall

Residental Students who attended the July Orientation Session will be able to move into their room where they are living in the fall. Commuter students should check-in by 12:00pm

ALL New students will recieve items to show off their Manhattanville College pride along with a schedule of events for opening weekend through the first two weeks of school when they check-in.

Student Center Lobby

Local banks will be available to open accounts and discuss other services they provide.

Library and Academic Resource Center, and Disability Services Open House

Familiarize yourself with the resources and services contained in the Library.  Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the main building, the multi-faceted Academic Resource Center & Writing Center, and Disability Services.

Lunch and Farewells

We encourage you to do lunch with your student in the Dining Hall or off campus.

Please keep in mind that ALL NEW STUDENTS HAVE REQUIRED PROGRAMMING STARTING AT 2:30pm on the Quad. 

Most College departments will be open 8am – 5pm both days of orientation.

If you need any assistance during orientation, please contact any of the Orientation Staff or any administrators or staff. 

Fall Fest'ville, our Family Weekend, will take place October 25. Information will be posted on the website soon. We hope to see you there!
