OPT Reporting

Once you have accepted either OPT or an OPT extension, you are required to report your home address or any changes within 10 days of the change .  You are also required to report your supervisor's contact information or any changes in employer/employment.  You are required to find employment in your field or fields of study (major/minor).  If you are still locating a position - put Actively Seeking Employment (ASE) in the employer field - if you go 90 days without employment in your field, your status will be terminated.  Not reporting your data will only create problems for all parties.  You are allowed to volunteer 20 hours a week and that will count as employment while you are searching for your dream job.  However, that too must be reported. Career Development will continue to work with you during this transition.  Any questions email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
