The Counseling Center offers psychotherapy counseling to students. In psychotherapy, an objective professional will discuss issues and concerns affecting individuals. These issues may include relationship problems, academic difficulties, drug/alcohol problems, sexual issues, frequent sadness, worries or concerns about self or body image.

Manhattanville College Counseling Center has been accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc.
International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. is an Alexandria, Virginia based organization of United States, Canadian and Australian counseling agencies. The Manhattanville College Counseling Center was evaluated by IACS against high standards of counseling practice and was found to offer competent and reliable professional services to its clientele. Approval by IACS is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.
The Manhattanville College Counseling Center is directed by Dr. Pamela Duncan and offers comprehensive mental health services to the full time undergraduated students of Manhattanville College.
IACS was established in 1972 to encourage and aid counseling agencies to meet high professional standards through peer evaluation and to inform the public about counseling services that are competent and reliable.

Brief Alcohol and Other Drug Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) is a three-session assessment and feedback process that allows you to explore your alcohol and other drug use. BASICS helps you explore how this use might be affecting your life in a safe, judgement-free envioronment. BASICS is confidential and your information will not be shared with anyone without your permission. This screening and intervention program can help you assess your risk, identify potential changes that may work for you, and help you reduce your risk of developing problems in the future.

Who are we?
The Counseling Center is a safe, private place for students to come and speak with professional clinicians regarding personal issues.
The Counseling Center staff consists of psychologists, psychiatrists and individuals with advanced training in those backgrounds. All clinicians at the Counseling Center have clinical experience working with young adults.

When are counselors available?
Counselors are in the office from Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In the rare instance that our hours are different, they are posted on the front door of the Counseling Center.
