To Parents of the Class of 2013
Your student is required to complete a portfolio prior to graduation. A resume approved by the Center for Career Development (CCD) must be included. In the past, resume approval was completed in the student's senior year; however, due to the increasing amount of juniors applying for internships, the CCD is embarking on an initiative to begin resume approval for students in their junior year.

According to a recent study done by The National Association of Colleges and Employers, internships are becoming increasingly more important when it comes to obtaining a job. This study found that 42.3% of seniors with internship experience that applied for a job received at least one job offer. Conversely, only 30.7% of seniors without internship experience who applied for a job received an offer. A similar study found that 58% of internships turn into full-time job opportunities. Students needing assistance with internship exploration can Contact Us to make an appointment with a career counselor.
