The second floor consists of three single rooms (one of which is designated as an RA room), laundry room and a full bath with separate toilet and shower rooms. Each room is equipped with one bed, one desk, one dresser and one wardrobe/closet per person. Each room, including the kitchen, is fitted with an A/C window unit and access to wireless internet. Residents will also have access to landline telephone and Ethernet hookup in each bedroom. Washers and dryers are provided for use free of charge to residents of the cottage.
The goal of Duchesne House is to provide interested students the opportunity to live in an environment centered on fostering the mission of the Duchesne Center and sharing that experience with the larger community. Students who successfully apply for residency in the Duchesne House will be expected to sign a statement of commitment to this end. Students selected for placement in the Duchesne House make a commitment to live there as part of a community and to collaborate with others on joint projects, events and activities related to the house theme. The level of commitment and contribution both in and outside of the house that each individual is willing to make should be part of the decision to apply for a special interest house.
