Did you know that if your student lives in the residence halls, they have a student mentor living amongst them? This student staff member is called a Resident Advisor (RA). Resident Advisors are student leaders that serve as a resource, a role model, a mediator, and a community builder in their hall. Basically they are there for your student to help in whatever way they can.
The Office of Residence Life will not be recruiting students for the RA position for the upcoming Spring 2013 semester, however during Spring 2013, advertisements will go up regarding the search for Fall 2013. Once that process has begun, applications will be available in the Office of Residence Life (Founders Hall G-5) or the Resident Director office in their residence hall.
Being an RA is a wonderful opportunity for any student, whether they are looking to get involved or they are already a student leader. Students obtain valuable skills, resume building opportunity a free room and so much more! Encourage your student to find out more by asking their RA!
