Mville 101 and Mville 102

Mville 101

What is Mville 101?

Mville 101 is a one-credit, graded course that is offered to new students during the fall semester.  The purpose of this first-year course is to guide new Manhattanville students in making a successful transition to the College, both academically and socially.

Mville 101 focuses on student goal-setting and the development of a sense of belonging to the Manhattanville community.  This is accomplished through small group interactions, an introduction to key campus resources, and opportunities to learn about the unique history and mission of the College.  Students will earn one academic credit toward their degree for successful completion of this course.

Who should enroll in Mville 101?

Mville 101 is recommended for all new freshmen in their first semester.  Many research studies have demonstrated the value of this type of seminar in supporting student success and retention.

How can I register for the course?

Students will have a chance to request pre-registration in Mville 101 through an online survey (the Orientation RSVP and Course Preference Request Form) that they will complete before the New Student Orientation Program.  Students can also add the course to their schedules during Orientation or at the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester.
