Final Exams

The last week of this term from Monday May 5th to Saturday May 10th ("Exam Week") will be converted to a standard Monday through Friday meeting pattern. The currently scheduled study day and final exam period will be suspended (including the Saturday exam day) and classes in all divisions will meet on their regular schedules to Friday May 9th. At their own discretion, Faculty may either hold a final exam during their last class meetings or use an alternate assessment method to facilitate final grading. Requests for special "extended" exam sessions cannot be accommodated as is it expected that classes and campus events will be using their previously scheduled rooms. As always, students requiring exam assistance should contact the Disability Services Office.

Final Exam Information:

Students and Faculty may use WebAdvisor to view course sections that are scheduling final exams. Final exam assignments will be viewable in the "public" online Schedule of Classes (click "Prospective Students") and in any class schedule that is accessible from a secure WebAdvisor menu after logging in. Students can also check their "My Schedule" screen in WebAdvisor to view final exams. Faculty may view their "Class Roster" screen to check final exam assignments. Examples of the final exam displays are shown below:

Final Exam Scheduling:

Final exams do not follow the same schedule as the regular semester's class meeting times. Each semester's courses identified as holding a final exam will appear in WebAdvisor (see above). The final exam week is published in the academic calendar for each term. Each exam timeslot is set for two hours.

Final Exam Attendance:

Completion of a final exam or final culminating project/presentation is a required component in the syllabus of many courses. It is every student's responsiblity to be aware of a course's academic/grading requirements and attend the final exam session when scheduled. Legitimate requests to have a final exam held on an alternate day, time period or location must be made in advance to the instructor of  the course. Students in need of specialized exam accommodations may contact the Office of Disability Services. NOTE: Routine student travel plans are NOT an acceptable excuse to re-schedule or miss an exam!

Final Exams and College Closures/Cancellations:

In the event of a weather or other emergency closure of the College, the Provost, Faculty and Registrar's Office will release a revised exam schedule when the campus re-opens. An extension of the term calendar may result to accommodate completion of a term's final exam schedule.
