Faculty can also serve the College on a number of cross-divisional committees that help to shape College policy and procedure. These include: Institutional Review Board (IRB) – Reviews College policy about research using human subjects and approves research protocols for faculty and students who are using human subjects in research projects, according to federal guidelines. Members are appointed by the Provost, who serves as the Institutional Official. Current Committee members are: IRB Committee Members, 2011-2012 Jessyca Arthur-Cameselle (Chair) Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) -- Reviews College policy about research using animal subjects and approves research protocols for faculty and students who are using animal subjects in research projects, according to federal guidelines. Members are appointed by the Provost, who serves as the Institutional Official. Current Committee members are: IACUC Membership Roster Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee – Works with students who plan to apply to medical, dental, physical therapy or other health professional programs. The Committee sets policy concerning standards for students whom the College will recommend to health professions schools; interviews and writes composite letters on behalf of those students; provides guidance and advice for students preparing to apply. Members are appointed by the Provost. Current Committee members are: Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) – Works to develop the College's Strategic Plan, set priorities within the Strategic Framework, and identify appropriate metrics and benchmarks to measure the success of implementation. Members are appointed by the President. Current Committee members are: Enrollment/Admissions Facilities Faculty/Academic Excellence Finance Student Life Advisory Budget Committee (ABC) – Works closely with the Vice President for Finance to understand, develop, and recommend priorities for the annual budget, following priorities established by the SPC.
