Purchase, NY — Manhattanville College School of Graduate and Professional Studies is hosting its annual Business Career Fair on April 17, 2012. This year's keynote speaker is Laurence P. Gottlieb, Director of Economic Development, Office of the County Executive.

Mr. Gottlieb will give his keynote address on "Westchester County: Today and Tomorrow" at 11 a.m. in Reid Hall on the Manhattanville campus. The fair opens to the public at 11:30 a.m.

"Laurence Gottlieb is a great resource for young professionals who are hoping to explore their career options," said Kathy Fitzgerald, Vice President for Enrollment Management. "It is an honor to have Mr. Gottlieb speak at Manhattanville. His knowledge and perspective on Westchester economics furthers our dedication to helping the next generation of business executives."

Appointed in January 2010, Laurence Gottlieb joined Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's administration as Director of Economic Development with over 20 years of experience as a top management executive for several major corporations, public affairs agencies and a global non-profit organization. He has served as a senior counselor to CEOs on issues including public and government relations, marketing, social responsibility, crisis management, and social media.

In his current position, Mr. Gottlieb is responsible for retaining, attracting and growing businesses in support of Westchester's $26 billion economy for the benefit of all residents. His multi-award winning marketing campaign – branding Westchester as "New York's Intellectual Capital®" – and streamlining the Office of Economic Development has resulted in numerous businesses either expanding or moving to the county, including Pepsi Beverages, IBM, Atlas Air, Dannon, Amkai Solutions, Sabra Dipping, Acorda Therapeutics, BioMed Realty Trust, Pentegra Retirement Services, OrthoNet, Lifetime Fitness and many others.

The career fair gives students, alumni, and business professionals an opportunity to network with some of the area's premier corporations, non-profit organizations, and staffing and recruitment firms.
