|Student Organizations at Manhattanville College Seek to Help Typhoon Victims in the Philippines|
Several student organizations at Manhattanville College will be collecting donations to help the millions of people in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan last week.“As one of the UNICEF chapters in the nation, we were urged to contribute and take immediate action for those victims without food, shelter, or water, and in need of urgent help,” stated Alejandra Sandoval’16, sponsorships coordinator of the UNICEF club at Manhattanville.

The Student Government Association (SGA) and the Student Affairs Advisory Board (SAAB) will also be launching “Study for a Purpose” at the start of finals week as an effort to raise money to donate for SAAB's “Valiants for the Philippines” fund, stated Jada Cash-Wilson, president of SGA. The funds raised during “Study for a Purpose” will go towards the Philippines chapter of UNICEF as well as Catholic charities there.
