|Manhattanville Alumna Debuts Sans Limites Dance|
Alumna Diana Petterson ’11, co-founder of Sans Limites Dance, will be presenting her fall season at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City, New York.
“My main objective is not to impress other dancers and choreographers with crazy complex movement. My main objective is to communicate an idea.” said Petterson, who realized in her early 20s that her passion was for the art of creating dances.
Sans Limites Dance is a New York City-based company Petterson started in February 2013 with fellow choreographer Richard Cramer. It specializes in concert dance as well as fine art atmospheric performances. The company’s “Moving Sculptures” series has been performed at the Brooklyn Wildlife Summer Festival, NYC Rooftop Story Movie Premiere & will be performed at Arts East New York Fundraiser Event.
For the fall dance season, which will take place Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16, there will be guest choreographers Charlique Rolle, Janice Rosario and Ayaka Habata. Also, Link! The movement, Arch Contemporary Dance and Community Dance Project will be guest choreographers.
There will be three shows as part of the fall season, one on Friday at 8 p.m. and two on Saturday, 4 and 8 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets visit the event’s webpage.
In the future Petterson would like here dance company to host a live music/dance concert, a dance film festival, a spoken work/poetry slam dance performance, and a visual art/dance collaborative production.
“All are performances are strides to reach our goal of ‘Artists Helping Artists,” she said.
