Quad Jam

W.C Lindsay performing at Quad JamManhattanville College hosted its annual Quad Jam on Saturday, April 27 featuring music performers W.C Lindsay and Chris Webby. Hosted by the Campus Activities Board (CAB) this year's Quad Jam theme was sports and included a variety of games and activities that mirrored the theme.

Beginning on the Quad at 2 p.m. students participated in miniature golf, laser tag, inflatable jousting, and an inflatable obstacle course. Along with all the fun activities students could also visit club booths and enjoy carnival fare such as corn dogs and cotton candy. Around 3 p.m. student performers took the stage including Raina Mullen, Richard Crum, One Fell Swoop, and others. Also in between musicians, Manhattanville Dance Ensemble, Minds in Motion, Step Team, and Dance Troupe performed.

While the festivities continued on the Quad, the Rugby team hosted a game on Dammann Field against The Gotham Knights. The Manhattanville Rugby Club lost by one take, with a final score of 37-32, but still played like true Valiants.

Breana Jackson, Co-President of CAB, believed this was one of the most successful Quad Jams she has helped to put together. "We had a lot of activities related to our theme, and people were really enthused about it," said Jackson. "We had alumni here and alumni performances, there was a lot going on with a really good turnout."

After all of the afternoon activities were over, students gathered at the front of the Quad for the night's musical performances. W.C Lindsay and his band, sponsored by MVL Radio Station, brought the crowd to their feet with their mix of Indie Electro-pop music. Making their third appearance at the College, W.C Lindsay was excited to be back at Manhattanville for Quad Jam.

"I felt like I was playing the smallest show to the biggest crowd," W.C. Lindsay, lead singer, said. "It was beautiful, I was making eye contact, everyone was right there with me and it was so positive. We have never had so much consistent positivity at shows in the city or at other venues; we will come back any time."

Rapper Chris Webby finished the night and ended Quad Jam performances with his song "La La La". After all the music on the quad ended, alumni DJ Fuego Beatz kept the fun going at the after party in the café. All and all, the annual event was a huge success and everyone had a great time.
