|Keeley McCue’11 Gets a Role on CBS|
Since graduating from Manhattanville College, Keeley McCue '11 has been actively pursuing a career as a singer-songwriter, actor, and photographer, and has garnered considerable success in a short time. She recently appeared in the popular CBS drama Blue Bloods, where she had her first television speaking role.
"Although, only one simple line distinguishes this debut role from my previous work in film and TV as a background/stand-in actor, it is a defining moment in my career," McCue said. "Shooting this was a surreal and incredible process; one which I hope will lead to many more such opportunities."
McCue plays a nurse on the episode of Blue Bloods titled "Quid Pro Quo," which aired on Friday, February 22 on CBS.
Some of her other acting engagements include a college co-ed role featured in the trailer for Tina Fey's upcoming movie Admission, parts of which were shot on the Manhattanville Campus. She also has a regular placement in the fifth season of the TV show Nurse Jackie on Showtime, as a core background nurse and stand-in for a principal actor.
McCue's accomplishments go beyond just her acting career. Her current collection of traditional, hand-printed, black and white photography entitled "The Juxtaposition of Natural and Artificial" has received some acclaim. It has been shown at juried art festivals, local shops, and at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center's Cancer Institute. Additionally, her debut music album "First Due" is available for download on iTunes.
A Management Major with Minors in Studio Art and Music, McCue has been making the best of her coursework as an actor, musician and photographer.
"It's an eclectic assortment of interests, but allows me to best express the beauty I find in this world," she said.
