|Manhattanville College To Offer Continuing Legal Education Program|
Manhattanville College, in conjunction with Ferst CLE, LLC, is hosting its first Continuing Legal Studies program, "CPLR Update 2012" with presenter David L. Ferstendig on June 19 at 6 p.m. in the Ophir Room in Reid Hall on the Manhattanville campus.
"We have started a CLE program, which will make continuing legal education available to lawyers," Anthony Davidson, Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies said. "Outside New York City, Westchester has the largest concentration of lawyers in the state. Our objective is to build up to a comprehensive program that will offer inexpensive, best in class CLE to the lawyers in our geographical area."
Ferstendig will focus on relevant case law developments, statutory and rule changes and provide guidance on the practical impact of these developments. The program will cover topics impacting procedure including commencement, discovery, motion practice, evidence, trials, enforcement of judgments, appeals and provisional remedies.
Festendig is recognized as a foremost authority on New York practice and procedure and is the past Chair of the New York State Bar Association's CPLR Committee. He is the General Editor of Weinstein, Korn & Miller New York Civil Practice: CPLR (LexisNexis), the premier 15-volume litigation treatise cited regularly as authoritative by New York State and Federal courts. With offices in midtown Manhattan, he has served as coordinating counsel for insurers and foreign country defendants on products liability matters throughout the United States. In nearly 30 years of practice, he has successfully mediated, reserved, litigated, and settled thousands of cases.
The event qualifies for three CLE credits and costs only $60 for the 3-hour session.
