School of Education To Offer Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability

The School of Education is offering a new 16-credit Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability. The program is for practicing teachers, community leaders, environmental specialists, publishers, and librarians who seek knowledge and expertise in education for sustainability.

Those interested in this certificate become aware of the socio-ecological problems that affect our global quality of life and learn how to be leaders in fostering a sustainable future. Developed by Dr. Sherie McClam, Assistant Professor of Education at Manhattanville College and a leader in the field of Education for Sustainability, this program can lead to a Master's Degree in Educational Studies.

"We are fortunate to have Dr. McClam on our staff to enable us to offer this critically important program that reaches across disciplinary boundaries in fostering leadership in the schools and community for creating a sustainable future," said Shelley Wepner, Dean of the School of Education.
