School of Education to Offer Classes at the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES

Manhattanville College, in collaboration with Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, is pleased to announce a special initiative to assist teachers who are interested in taking courses, seeking a new degree, or obtaining an additional certification to further their credentials and improve their professional marketability. All courses will meet on the P/NW BOCES campus in Yorktown and will be offered with a 50 percent tuition discount.

College degree and certification programs offered as part of the initiative include:

  • Masters of Professional Studies in TESOL, 39 credits, leading to certification in TESOL (all grades)
  • Masters of Professional Studies in Literacy, 37 credits, leading to certification in literacy (birth to grade 6)
  • Advanced Certificate in Special Education, grades 7-12, generalist, 29 credits

Courses for additional certifications:

  • TESOL, typically 12 credits
  • Literacy, typically 13 credits
  • Students With Disabilities, typically 9 to 12 credits

There will also be a 15-credit course sequence in Applied Behavior Analysis, which is part of the eligibility for the National BCBA certificate.
